"2 years ago, this month, we bought this beautiful house. A few months before, we decided we wanted to settle down into our forever home and have a place for mom (in law) to live and age in place. We had about three months before our lease was up, so we were in a bit of a rush. And although we already lived in Denver, we didn't really know which area we wanted to move to.
When we started our journey, we were a little worried about the extreme housing environment with high prices and low inventory. But we came across this beautiful house online, and called Amanda immediately! We found ourselves in a bidding war with a developer, so we decided to send the owners a letter. We told them that we love gardening, explained the visions we had for the house and the property and within a matter of a few days we signed the contract!
The house had everything we were hoping for: a cottage for our mom (in law), spaces for gardening, a place to escape and watch movies or play games, someplace where we could work out at home, ánd a space for an art studio. Our favourite space? Oh my... So many options... I think the art studio/office. But we also love cooking and chatting together in the kitchen, and admiring the garden from the rocking chair on our front porch.
A month after we moved in, we discovered some amazing wildlife on and around the property… great horned owls, a red fox family, hummingbirds, and a young deer buck. In August, the young buck came and laid down in a patch of grass outside of our glass doors. I laid down on the rug in front of the doors and we watched each other for a bit, and then he put his head down and closed his eyes for a nap. We both napped for a good 30 minutes and when I woke up he was still there. That was such an amazing, magical moment and I knew at that moment that this was the perfect home for us.
Amanda has been working with our family for years and has always taken great care of us. She’s honest about homes that are a good or bad buy, helped us with weighing various pros and cons of a home and she is informative and helpful with the entire buying (and selling) process. She has been such a great help with finding us home resources, and we have fun along the way.
After two years living here we already love this house and property so much. We've done a lot of work to the house and garden already, and it's nice to slowly work towards our visions. We’re looking forward to many more magical years here."
